New Years Eve

We will have DD Disco here for your entertainment:

There will be a wide variety of 60s, 70s, 80s and modern day songs plus karaoke.

We will also be providing a raffle as well as bonus HOY for the original entrance fee of £1.

For this night only, pints of beer and larger will be at a reduced price of £2 while spirits will be at the usual price of £3 a double.

Wednesday 26th December

We are open normal hours:

Christmas Day

We are open the following hours:

Christmas Eve

We are open normal hours:

19.00 till Midnight

On the night we will have a few games of HOY and a good cheer.

Sunday 23rd December

We are open normal hours:

12.00 till 14.00 in the afternoon,

And 19.00 till 23.45 with the usual games of HOY.

Saturday 22nd December

Want a good night out with music favourites?

An exceptional disc jockey Richard Sharpe will be here with Ricks Showtime.

On the night we will have a duo of singers to sing songs for your entertainment as well as inviting you to sing some karaoke.

Entrance is free and doors will be open from 7.45pm.

Friday 21st December

There will be a meeting for the children's Christmas party on the date given above at 8pm.

The new Tote Draw - Four to Score Draw

The new format for the Saturday night tote draw is to predict which four numbers (1 to 24) will be drawn in each weeks draw. The cost is £1.00 per entry and you can enter as many times as you like. 50% of funds collected will be added to the prize fund each week, which will roll over to the following weeks draw if not won. At present we are using the old tote envelopes on which you can note your four number predictions and name. Draws will take place as usual at 10.00 pm on Saturday nights.

The Club as promoter will not be responsible for any entries not deposited in the draw box by the deadline of 10 pm on Saturday. All proceeds  after deduction of expenses ans prize money, will be donated to the St Julians HSOB Club (Arrows) 45 Harrow Road Newport. The club is licensed by Newport City Council. 

Notice to Members - Jean Kruger

It is with great sadness that we report the passing of former stewardess and current committee member of the club Jean Kruger who died unexpectedly on 7th December. Our sincere condolences go to her family.

Funeral arrangements will be advised in due course.

December 15th - Board draw Night

Its that time of year when Andy P, Tom and Phil collect on their board draw investment along with everyone else who bought tickets over the last few months Who will win the mince pies? Who will win the chocolates?

Come along and find out. We will be selling board draw tickets on the night up to 8.30 pm if you want to take part in the draw. There will be the usual hoy and Tote draw as well.

We are holding the second of our Bric & Brac sales on Saturday so come along and grab yourself a bargain.

Alternatively if you want to donate items, bring them along to the club any time this week.

Doors Open 12.00pm to 2.00 pm. 

All proceeds in aid of the Club's children Christmas party.

The weekly tote draw commencing Saturday 3rd November 2012 will be the last of the current format. When it is won a new tote draw will be introduced, details of which, will be published shortly.

Latest News Letter

Dear Members and Friends,
                                           Its now nearly nine months since the Committee took over the day to day running of your Club. It has been a hard but gratifying experience and your Committee and helpers are pleased to say that our heads are now above water. We still have a long way to go but we feel confident that the future is rosy. We have already refurbished the Pool Room and are about to start redecorating the downstairs facility, (volunteers welcome, see Committee reps for details). We have also been able to purchase some much needed bar equipment ie. Ice Maker, Glass Washer etc. The Committee are thankful for the continued support of all teams representing The Arrows club and welcome any new ventures such as the recently reactivated Ladies Section. Remember its Your Club please support it and help it to survive. Many thanks the Committee.

Double money night.

For the three main sessions of HOY, money collected will be doubled by the club (up to £50 per session).

There will also be a limit of two cards maximum per person.

Money Raised for S.C.U.F.

Our thanks go out to all who came and supported the charity show on the 24th August.

Overall we have raised £215 with the club adding an extra £50 which will go towards education days and local activities.

We would also like to thank Heidi and all her friends for making it a fantastic night.

Ladies Section Weekly Raffle

Tickets cost 50p each and will be drawn every Saturday night.

Money raised will go towards Children's Christmas party.

Friday 24th August

A charity show for S.C.U.F. (Special Children's Unit Fund) to help support children with type 1 diabetes.

On the night, we will have an artist performing at our club.

Tickets now on sale @ £2.50 each with entry into a raffle.

All money raised at this event will go towards education days and local activities. These include Comprehensive Educational days, Christmas Parties, Diabetes club and Activity weekends.

Internet and Sky

We have recently installed 2 Sky+HD boxes and a new router which will allow you to access the internet.

A Sky+HD box has been installed upstairs in the sports room and the other downstairs behind the bar. To watch the TV upstairs you will require the Sky remote from behind the bar. A small deposit will be required.

All sports channels are available with some in HD.

Access to the router is free of charge and is available through a laptop or smart phone.
